I simply can’t imagine being hit over and over with explosives. Every day you wake up, jump in your Hummer and head out. There’s no front line, no safe place and you have to be on guard all the time. Let’s say you’ve been hit a few times, little stuff, couple of injuries. Then a big one hits - a couple of your buddies are killed, many are hurt and you think you see some people who might have had something to do with the IED in the surrounding houses. This could quickly go the wrong way.
It appears that this time it has. Sadly, the soldiers did what happens to people under incredible pressure without the kind of leadership that keeps things in line - they reacted with their training. In this case that meant somewhere between 16 and 24 innocent civilians were killed. This kind of thing happens in war - but as Rep. John Murtha says - when they’re covered up they destroy our credibility.

So Bush has appointed this general named Michael Hayden to be the head of the CIA. This is the guy who apparently was in charge of the entirely illegal NSA phone tapping. Now, the CIA is supposed to be a civilian agency - as I understand it. Hayden will most likely militarize the CIA - and since he’s already started to strip our civil rights, I see no reason to think that he won’t do even worse when he’s in charge of a huge spy agency.
Oh, and quite possibly the most disturbing thing about the joker is that he looks a lot like Dwight Shrute from NBC’s The Office.

Creepy huh?

I readily admit that I’m a slightly compulsive and obsessive person. I work in theatre and corporate AV - so when I’m busy I’m very busy. I don’t really have much time for anything beyond trying to see my wife, my dog and getting some food. When things ramp down, which they have right now, I get a little twitchy. I guess I’m just so used to being so busy that I can’t really sit still. So I choose something and go a little crazy. This time it’s paintball. The main problem with paintball is that it costs a lot to play. I don’t really have the money to buy anything, so I’m just shopping. Now, normally I hate to shop - just ask my wife. So, this turns into a little bit of a masochistic shopping exercise. I feel compelled to look at things, compair prices, choose what I want and then not buy. Which really puts a dent in the fun of the whole process. Then about 2 hours later I find myself bored again and begin the process again. It’s unsatisfying.
